I have tried a few different hair products over the last few months, searching for curly hair products that won’t break the bank. I am pleased to report that I found some drugstore and Amazon items that were not only budget-friendly, but actually worked! Please read below for my favorite budget-friendly curly hair products this month.
Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo – This shampoo works very well. It gets my hair clean, doesn’t make my strands feel brittle and is gentle.
Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner – This formula works really well with my hair. It makes my hair feel moisturized and not too weighed down. It’s definitely not a deep conditioner, but for a regular conditioner, it works well.
Detangling brush – My mother actually gave me one of these brushes and I was skeptical at first. But after using it for the last few months, I really love it. It’s nice to use the brush to detangle my hair as opposed to my fingers. It’s great for distributing the leave-in-conditioner throughout my hair as well.
Leave in Conditioner – I was a bit nervous to try this product because Suave isn’t known for their natural hair products. But I saw a natural hair influencer use their products so that gave me a bit more comfort in trying it. Plus, it was less than $5, so it was tempting to try. I love the consistency! It’s very smooth and light-weight, but coats your hair and makes it feel moisturized.
As I Am Curling Jelly – This curling hair gel is amazing. I like that it really locks the curl into shape when using the finger coil method. I still definitely have some frizz in some parts of my hair (and that could be due to skipping sections unintentionally), but for the most part, this product gives my hair major definition. I love it. Definitely recommend. I have also tried this product with twist-outs and braid-outs, and I am still pleased with the result.
Scrunchies from Amazon – I use these scrunchies to put my hair in half-up, half-down styles and to put my hair in a double pineapple when I sleep at night. Compared to the skinny hair ties, these satin scrunchies help prevent breakage and protect my hair from tearing while keeping it out of my face 🙂 I love them!
Edge Control – I used this product for a while and wasn’t that impressed until I switched up my application process. Now, I apply this edge control around the front edges of my hairline, wet my bristle brush with water and comb the product into my hair. It smoothes my hair and makes it straight around the hairline. Works like a charm.
Bristle Brush – I use this bristle brush exclusively for edge control. My mom told me about this brush and it really is a game changer. As mentioned above, apply the edge control to your hairline, wet the brush with water and brush the product into your hairline.
That’s all for now! Do you have any drugstore curly hair products that you love? Please leave your recommendations below!
