Love is Blind – If you haven’t watched Love is Blind yet, please do yourself a favor and add to your Netflix watch list immediately. This is a reality show that captures a social experiment where single men and women date without ever seeing each other. They date in pods and get to know each other based on personality, shared interests, emotional intelligence and more. It’s kind of like The Bachelor but instead of there being one man dating many women, there are several people dating until they find their match. And after a few dates of not seeing each other, they get engaged! :-0 After the engagement, they meet face-to-face, move in together and plan their wedding. On their wedding day, they either decide to get married (legally!!) or call it quits. It’s so addictive.
Dollface – I love this show so much. This Hulu show is hilarious because it follows Jules, a 20-something woman who just got dumped by her boyfriend of five years, and it follows her re-acclimation into the world of women. She has to navigate rebuilding her friendships with females in the office, in her personal life and ultimately, with herself. It stars Brenda Song, Kat Dennings and Shay Mitchell and has cameos by other celebrities as well. The humor is spot on for anyone who can relate to regrettably neglecting their female friends after getting into a romantic relationship and then trying to find the balance. 10/10, highly recommend.
The Flash – This is a show that my husband and I watch together on Netflix and it is such a sweet show. Barry Allen is a meta-human who has super speed and he uses his speed to save Central City from all kinds of chaos. His team includes family and friends, and it’s just a really nice, wholesome show. I also adore the love story between Barry and Iris, and all the ladies in the show are so well-dressed. I get inspired for work wear 🙂
Katy Keene – Katy Keene is a spin-off of the CW show Riverdale. While I enjoyed the mystery and action of Riverdale, Katy Keene has a completely different vibe. This show follows Katy, Josie and their friends as they all try to make their dreams come true in New York City. Katy is an aspiring fashion designer who works at an iconic department store, Josie is an aspiring musician, Jorge dreams of being a Broadway star and Pepper is a writer and entrepreneur. The quad gets into all kinds of drama, but the one thing that pulls them through difficult situations is their friendship.
Disney’s Fairytale Weddings – Disney’s Fairytale Weddings on Disney+ is perfect for those who love wedding shows, but also love everything Disney. I really enjoy seeing the couples tell their stories of how they fell in love, how much Disney has played a meaningful role in their lives, and all of the unique details that make their marriage ceremony so special. One episode featured a couple who got married at Cinderella’s castle, the bride arrived in a horse-drawn carriage and every detail was just so glamorous. The ceremonies range from small(ish) to larger budgets and take place at different properties, but each one is filled with that Disney magic! I also like that the hosts Stephen “Twitch” Boss and Allison Holker are a married couple who help play a role in some of the ceremonies and proposals.
Claws – I just started watching this show on Hulu and it is definitely on the raunchy side. If you’re not a big fan of vulgarity, this show might not be for you, but if you can handle it, this show is very intriguing. I love how raw the characters are. Ms. Desna runs a nail salon in Central Florida and is a strong leader for the rest of her staff. In order to make more money, she and her team get involved in money laundering and things go awry, prompting the manicurists to stick together. I’ve only seen the first episode, but I am looking forward to watching more. I want Desna to succeed because I feel she deserves so many nice things in life and she’s so stylish and fierce.
The Masked Singer – This is another family friendly show. It’s available to watch on Hulu and follows celebrities as they go head-to-head in a singing competition. The celebs have concealed their identities, and the audience and judges must guess who’s in the costume based off of clues and their performance. I have been so shocked at some of the performers because some of them are musical legends and others are famous in other industries but still well-known. If you like the board game Clue and you also like reality singing competitions, you’ll really like this show.
Sweet Magnolias – I am only two episodes into this Netflix show and I can tell I’m going to love it. It reminds me of Hart of Dixie, which is one of my all time favorite shows. Sweet Magnolias centers around three best friends who are navigating the changes in life in a small town in South Carolina. Helen is an attorney who is excellent at her job, but is now seeing she might want to settle down and have a family. Maddie is a mother of three, including two teenagers, who is going through a divorce with the town doctor who has knocked up his nurse. :-0 And Dana Sue is a divorced single mom who is the executive chef at her own restaurant. The ladies decide to go into business together and build a women’s-only spa. I just love the slow, Southern life depicted in the show and the strong friendships between these three ladies.
